Inception is so awesome, this is my third post about it. This is a list of 9 things many people don't know about inception.
Inception had a budget of $160million
In 2001, Christopher Nolan realized a film like Inception needed a large budget, because "as soon as you’re talking about dreams, the potential of the human mind is infinite. And so the scale of the film has to feel infinite. It has to feel like you could go anywhere by the end of the film. And it has to work on a massive scale." Nolan realised he needed more experience on large-scale films. So he worked on Batman Begins and Dark Knight. The $160 million cost was split between Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.
…With an advertising budget of $100million
In the spring of 2010 a viral marketing campaign was started for the film. On June 2, 2010 a manual was sent out to various companies. The manual was filled with bizarre images and text all relating to Inception. As the month went on, more and more viral marketing began to surface, including posters, ads and strange websites all related to the film.
It grossed over $21million on its opening day
And $62.7million that weekend. With the advertising hype, Inception became the top trending topic on Twitter for days. After the first weekend of release the top four trends on twitter were related to Inception. Since its release, Inception has grossed more than $248 million in the United States, and an additional $314 million in the rest of the world. In total, the film has grossed $560 million worldwide so far.
Inception has the second highest grossing debut for a stand-alone sci-fi film in its opening weekend.
Its been in Nolan’s head since he was 16
Christopher Nolan had these ideas since he was about 16. He was intrigued by how he would wake up and then, while falling back into a lighter sleep, hold on to the awareness that he was dreaming, a lucid dream. He also became aware of the feeling that he could study the place and alter the events of the dream. He said, "I tried to work that idea of manipulation and management of a conscious dream being a skill that these people have. Really the script is based on those common, very basic experiences and concepts, and where can those take you? And the only outlandish idea that the film presents, really, is the existence of a technology that allows you to enter and share the same dream as someone else."
Inception was originally envisioned as a horror film
While revisiting the script for the movie, Nolan decided basing it in a horror genre did not work because the story "relies so heavily on the idea of the interior state, the idea of dream and memory. I realized I needed to raise the emotional stakes."
The script was worked on for 10 years.
Nolan wrote the original script in 2001, when he wrote and 80 page treatment about dream stealers. After working on Batman Begins and Dark Knight, he worked on the script for 6 more months before selling it to Warner Bros. in February 2009.
The long hotel corridor in dream level 2 was able to turn 360 degrees.
Constructed by Guy Hendrix Dyas, special effects supervisor Chris Corbould, and cinematographer Wally Pfister, The long hotel corridor in the 2nd dream level was able to rotate 360 degrees to create the effect of alternate direction of gravity. As the film’s sequence grew bigger, the hallway’s length grew from 40ft[12m] to 100ft[30m]
Inception was not a rip-off
Christopher Nolan was accused of ‘ripping off’ the French Film ‘L’anee derniere a Marienbad’[Last year at Marienbad] but Nolan stated he never saw the movie until after Inception was finished. He said this in an interview with New York times. It was also suggested that Inception might have been inspired by a Donald Duck comic called Uncle Scrooge: The Dream of a Lifetime. In it the Beagle Boys enter Scrooge McDuck's dreams in order to steal the combination to his safe while Donald Duck and his nephews enter the dream as well in order to stop them.

Genre: Romantic Comedy.
Kirk(Jay Baruchel), an airport security worker at Pittsburgh broke up with his girlfriend 2 years ago and now he wants her back. Only now she’s with Ron. A few days later, Kirk is doing his usual airport security rounds when he finds an iPhone belonging to Molly. So he agrees to drop the phone off at this party and they (Kirk and his friend) get thrown out. Molly thinks she should make it up to them and she asks him to come see the Islanders game with her friend Patty. During the game Kirk finds out she’s into him.
After that, Molly asks Kirk out on a date at this fancy restaurant and they run into Molly’s ex-boyfriend Kim. The date goes well and Kirk drops Molly off at her house and before she gets down, she kisses him.
A few days later, Kirk takes Molly to his house to meet his family. When his mom sees her she suddenly becomes nervous and starts giggling and his dad says “Nice”. His mom even jumps up in excitement ‘cos she’s shocked Kirk got a hot girlfriend. At dinner, Kirk’s ex (yep! She is part of the family) wears a really tight dress so everyone thinks she’s hot also. Then she goes on to talk about how people don’t treat ‘them’ pretty women well and everyone else is like ‘you pretty women?’. At the end of dinner, Kirk’s mum asks if Molly would like to come with them on their vacation to Branson. After Dinner Kirk and his brother play this mini hockey thing like penalties in soccer. And for the first time Kirk wins.
Kirk goes to Molly’s house after dinner that night, they start making out and then something happens which you have to watch the movie to see. Suddenly, Molly’s parents enter the room and Kirk being too ashamed because of the incident, runs off. They don’t talk for weeks until Kirk summons up the courage to tell her about the incident the night they were making out. After getting back together, Molly tries doing it with Kirk again after her sister’s birthday party, then Molly decides to show Kirk a defect she has….and she has webbed toes…and they move into an argument about how Kirk is not a 10 and Molly is using him because she thinks she’ll be safe and bla bla bla.
Next thing we see is Kirk and his ex both wearing ‘Branson bound’ t-shirts, at the airport. While seated on the plane preparing for take-off, Kirk realizes he should go after Molly all thanks to his friend Stainer. Kirk suddenly switches to ranting mood, Dissing everyone in his family and telling them how stupid they are, etc, etc until a member of the cabin-crew tells him he can’t get off. So now he’s stuck on the plane with all the people he dissed.< Stainer calls up Patty and gets her to bring Molly to the airport. The plane gets delayed thanks to one of Kirk’s friends and we see Kirk running out of the plane and into the airport’s terminal for Molly. Through small duty free shops and on transport carts. Finally Kirk finds Molly and they discuss their issues and bla bla and they kissed.

After watching Inception, I seriously had to check if I was in reality. For me my totem was my phone. As soon as I saw my To-do list, I knew there was no way any Architect could fake that!
In the movie, Cobb's totem was a spindle, for Arthur it was a die and for Ariadne it was a bishop.
So I want to know, If the idea of dream sharing was real, like in inception, What would your totem be?

The beta also includes a feedback button so users can tell Mozilla what they like or do not like about the application. Sadly, they forgot a minimize button even though its included in this image from the website.
This new Firefox also has a new multi-touch technology for Windows 7 users on touch-enabled devices.

No official Response
The House of Reps and The Senate have not officially released a response to Obasanjo’s statement.
What exactly do they earn?
At a recent public event, Prof. Itse Sagay in a well researched paper pointed out that the Senate President “earns N250million quarterly or N83million per month while his deputy earns N50 million monthly and that while N1.024bn was allocated as quarterly allowance to the 10 principal officers in the upper house, each of the other principal officers earns N78million every three months or N26million per month.”
In other words he said Nigerian lawmakers in Abuja are the highest paid in the world! In 2009, a Senator earned N240million in salaries and allowances, while his House of Reps counterpart earned N203 million. Therefore A senator earned $1.7 million and a member of the House of Reps earned N1.45million per annum. He also compared the Nigerian Senators pay with that of the American Senator who earns $174,000 and the British who earned $64,000 in 2009. It is also important to note that Barrack Obama earns $400,000 in 2009 as the American President. American presidents are known worldwide as the ‘Busiest men in the world’ I still see no reason why any public officer should earn more than Obama.
What do the Senators think?
Since there is no official response from the house, Some senators have taken it upon themselves to speak out.
Roland Owie says “How can he[obasanjo] call the kettle black? He was the creator of corruption. Obasanjo introduced Ghana-Must-Go in 1999 into the National Assembly when he was calling senators into the villa to appeal to us to vote Enwerem instead of Okadigbo. It was the beginning of Ghana must Go.” Ghana-must-go in this case refers to the types of bags used to distribute money. It is believed money was put into these bags and used to bribe senators.
Alli Ndume of the ANPP said “Obasanjo is our father and grandfather in corruption. I cannot sit here and tell you that we are not corrupt… But was it not Obasanjo that bribed every member of the House in 2006 with N50millionto support his failed third term agenda? I want the Press to go and find out what was the asset and bank account of Obasanjo in 1999. Then go and check his bank account now and his assets, then you will understand what I am saying. Obasanjo should have said that all politicians are corrupt.”
What is Obasanjo trying to do?
Basically I think OBJ is trying to make us think he’s a good man. He wants us to think he’s in some kind of apologetic state so he’s been snitching since last year. OBJ has been snitching so many corrupt people since late last year, I’m so sure he has another agenda.

After 3 failed attempts at seeing this, I finally watched this movie alone. Just because I had to pay enough attention.
Before you read my review we have to go through certain definitions just so you understand what I’m talking about. I’m also going to explain some parts of the movie for all those who still don’t understand what it’s all about.
First up is inception. An inception is a thought or an idea. An idea can be so little, yet it can spread through your mind like wild fire and change who you are. So in this movie an inception is planting an idea in a person’s mind without actually giving the target the idea. If the subject is given an idea his mind can tell he got it from someone else so he can discard the idea. All this is done within a dream or dream levels. Dream levels are dreams within dreams.
Extraction. Extractions are usually done by extractors. An extractor knows how to find his way around your thoughts and makes you divulge information to him.
For an extraction to occur, Four people are needed
The point man: The point man acts as a guardian or a security force if you will. The point man stays awake in one of the dream levels to plan ‘the kick’. The kick is the action that wakes anyone in the dream up. It can be a shot, a stab or a fall. Anything that feels like free fall or would cause pain really.
The extractor: The extractor is the man who makes the subject give information. The extractor makes the subject do stuff that involve actually giving up or using information in the subject’s mind. The action can be entering a PIN code or opening a vault. Basically he lets the subject trust him enough to give information.
The architect: The architect basically designs the dream levels or realms. The architect makes sure the buildings, rivers, trains, e.t.c seem real enough to the subject so he doesn’t realize he’s dreaming.
The tourist: His name speaks for itself. The tourist is the person who just comes along. He doesn’t necessarily have to be part of the dream even though he is in it. The tourist can act as a helper in times of emergency.
NOW THE REVIEW
Leonardo DiCaprio as Dom Cobb, the Extractor, a professional thief who specializes in conning secrets from his victims by infiltrating their dreams. Cobb leads a team consisting of Arthur, Ariadne, Eames, Saito, and Yusuf, with the goal of influencing Fischer's actions via his dreams.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Arthur, the Point Man, Cobb's partner and the man responsible for researching the team's targets.
Ken Watanabe as Saito, the Tourist, a businessman who employs Cobb for the team's mission, and insists on being a member.
Ellen Page as Ariadne, the Architect, a graduate student who is recruited to construct worlds in which the dreams take place. Ariadne alludes to the daughter of King Minos who aided Theseus by giving him a sword and a ball of string to help him navigate the labyrinth.
Tom Hardy as Eames, the Forger, a sharp-tongued associate of Cobb's. Eames uses his ability to take the form of others in order to manipulate Fischer in Fischer's dreams.
Dileep Rao as Yusuf, the Chemist, who formulates the drugs needed to sustain the team members' dream states.
Marion Cotillard as Mal Cobb, the Shade, Dom Cobb's deceased wife and a frequent, malevolent presence in Dom's dreams. Dom is unable to control these projections of her, challenging his abilities as an extractor. She serves as the film's main antagonist.
Cillian Murphy as Robert Michael Fischer, the Mark, the heir to a business empire and the team's target.
Tom Berenger as Peter Browning, Fischer's godfather and fellow executive at the Fischers' company.
Pete Postlethwaite as Maurice Fischer, Robert's dying father.
Lukas Haas as Nash, an architect in Cobb's employment who is replaced by Ariadne.
Michael Caine as Miles, Cobb's mentor and father-in-law, and Ariadne's college professor who recommends her to the team.
Written and Directed by Christopher Nolan
Locations: Tokyo, Japan; Cardington, England; University College London, England; Warner Bros Studios;
So In this movie, Dom Cobb gets hired by Saito to plant an inception in a Rival’s mind so Cobb gets to go back to his children. Cobb’s wife, Mal had died because she believed the reality they were in was not really reality. The rival is Robert Fisher, The Mark. Fisher’s father recently died so Cobb puts together a team with an Architect, A pointman, A tourist[Saito], A forger[Eames], A chemist[Yusuf], and himself[ the extractor]. The plan is to place an idea in Robert Fisher’s mind so he decides to split up his father’s companies which rival Saito.
To do this the team needs to create and penetrate 3 dream levels.
In the first level, This is the original dream the team actually creates. They sedate Fisher while he’s on a plane to Los Angeles. In this stage they pick Fisher up in LA, kidnap him and Eames pretends to be his father’s right hand man[Peter Browning]. While in a van they sedate Fisher again, placing him in a second dream level. Meanwhile Fisher thinks this first level is reality.
In the second level, Cobb walks up to Fisher at a bar and convinces Fisher he’s been sent to protect him. Fisher tries his best to remember where he was before he got to this dream and he realizes he’s been given a code to something. Fisher agrees and decides to dream with Cobb and his team mates. At this point fisher thinks they’re all trying to protect him from his Peter Browining.
In the third level, Fisher and Cobb’s team have to help Fisher break into a secret vault in the Alps with an army protecting it. Fisher finally opens a vault and sees his father. Fisher after a very short conversation with his father believes his Father wants him to start and do his own thing. But before Fisher escapes, he’s shot by Mal, a result of Cobb’s subconscious projected into his dream. To save him, Cobb and Ariadne must go into a fourth level.
In the fourth level, Cobb finds his wife and begins to talk to her in an attempt to get Fisher back, because she already captured him in the third level. She stabs Cobb and the Ariadne shoots her. The dream begins to collapse so the Architect sets in her kick and Fisher’s kick leaving Cobb behind to find Saito who was shot in the first level.
Other Inception lingo
Projections: A projection is something out of a person’s mind. Most projections come out of the subconscious. The dreamer doesn’t plan to create them in his dream, but they are there. Projections can also arise from a dreamer’s memories.
Subconscious: The stuff that happens around a subject’s dream that seem out of his control. Like the people that walk on the streets, eat at restaurants, e.t.c. When the subconscious realize there’s someone else other than the subject in the dream, they attack the person, giving the visitor a kick .
Totem: A totem can be any object. A totem is something you choose before entering your dream. The totem is balanced in reality. For Cobb it was a spinning. When it wobbled he wasn’t in reality and vice-versa.
Nobody is really sure if Cobb ended up in reality because his Totem was about to wobble but the camera zoomed in and the screen went blank! After the movie, I slapped myself about 3 times just so I was sure I was awake. For me my totem is my phone. I checked my To-Do list and I saw ‘Write blog post; Write blog post; search; search; download; download; tweet;’ Yep! This is definitely my life. If you had to choose a totem what would you choose? Add your totem to the comment section below.
