The Internet is running out of Space!

According to Hurricane Electric, the internet is about to run out of its current version of IPV4 addresses. That is assuming there are one million addresses created every four hours. Doomsday is February 2nd, 4am.

Yeah I'll explain it. Every internet connected to the Internet has a unique code called an IP address. Currently the internet runs on IPV4, a system that supports only about 4 billion IPV4 addresses. The upside is some of these addresses are reusable as explained on PC world.

There's seriously no need to be sad. Thanks to the Internet Engineering Task Force, this problem was foreseen and they invented IPV6, a system that uses letters and digits so the internet can handle about 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456 addresses!

Thanks to Hurricane Electric's campaign, they're encouraging other internet service providers to switch to IPV6. Already most operating system support IPV6 by default.

So you're safe!
